There’s trouble at t’mill.

The doors of Talbot Mill opened to a completely sold-out audience, there were beat boxers, break dancers, graffiti artists, good food and tons of whisky. A recipe for a great night and that’s not even mentioning the main event, 10 live artists going head to head battling it out to be crowned winner.

Back in January we held Art Battle Manchester at our very own Talbot Mill for a fun filled night of live art and a buzzing atmosphere to go along with it. The whisky was flowing when the North West Beatbox Hub kicked things off, followed by some awesome break dancing from Groove Anometry. Then onto round 1 of the battle...

How it went down: 10 artists took to the stage to produce their best masterpiece in just 30 minutes. Then the crowd voted on their favourite art piece with special coins, ultimately deciding who goes through to round 2 and then the final. The battle was truly amazing, with some incredible artists and a fresh location to inspire those creative juices. We even managed to raise a wedge for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

And the winner is… Charlotte Smailes! We loved her art piece which involved a very detailed drawing of an eye using mixed media and ink. We hope you enjoy your winners golden paintbrush!
